Who we are
Calm Paws Australia is a Tweed Heads-based specialised Dog Training business that aims to enhance the quality of life of dogs by focusing on the relation-ship between dogs and their owners.
At Calm Paws, the focus is not just to train dogs, but also to understand their needs and emotions as well as help owners to develop rewarding and loving relationships with their dogs.
We use specialist training techniques that address temperament, behaviour, emotions and environ-ment to best meet the needs of the dog and its owner.

In-home Consultations (in person or online)
- $220 for 1.5 hours (GST incl) – Initial consultation
- $165 for 1.5 hours (GST incl) – Ongoing consultations/training
Discuss your dog’s behavioural/emotional issues with Lynda in the familiar surroundings of your home. She’ll show you techniques and strategies to address your dog’s immediate challenges, with follow-up sessions offering additional support and guidance if needed. Online consultation can be arranged if in-person training is not possible.
Pre-Test Training to Pass the Public Access Test for Assistant/Therapy Dogs
$80 for 2 hours (GST incl) - Group Training
$120 for 2 hours (GST incl) - One-on-One Training
This program is designed to prepare your dog to pass the official Public Access Test for Assistant or Therapy Dogs. This training covers techniques and strategies to enable you to handle your dog at home and in public and to build up the confidence and capabilities to pass the Public Access Test. The sessions cover the following elements:
Basic obedience
Skills to keep your dog safe in public
Socialisation
Keep your dog calm in intense situations
Read and understand your dog’s body language
Build up your dog’s resilience to become well-adjusted
Balance assistance dog time and free play time
Post-Test Training after Passing the Public Access Test for Assistant/Therapy Dogs
$80 for 1.5 hours (GST incl)
An advanced training specifically for assistance dogs that is designed to teach your dog to perform tasks you are unable to do yourself, such as:
Turn on a light
Take clothes from a drawer and bring them to you
Pick up objects and bring them to you
Puppy Board and Train
$80 per day (GST incl)
This is a training program that focuses on training puppies up to 6 months of age. We can receive puppies straight from your breeder or you can send them to us at a later time before he/she is 6 months old. Typically, puppies will board for 3-4 weeks and learn the following behaviours:
Crate training
Settle in/sleep through the night
Toilet training
Socialisation/exposure to new experiences
Basic obedience (sit/stay/come)
Placement training
Engage to offer emotional support to children
Calm Paws Connect - Puppy Training
1. Puppy Boarding: $75 per day for a two-week training period (GST incl)
2. Puppy Connect: $120 per 1.5-hour session (GST incl)
3. Ongoing Support: $120 per 1.5-hour session (GST incl)
This program is designed to help children and dogs connect through fostering a mutually supporting and trusting relationship. The goal is to teach young people how to handle their puppies and use them as emotional support. The program comes three stages:
1. Puppy Boarding is a two-week board and train to prepare the puppy to go into the owner's/handler's home
2. Puppy Connect will teach the young people how to interact and handle dogs using Calm Paws training dogs
3. Ongoing support and guidance is designed to meet the ongoing needs of the owner's/handler's relationship with their dogs with dedicated support
Confidence & Socialisation Training
$55 for 1 hour (GST incl)
Make the most of your dog’s daily walks by combining it with training to follow simple, but effective commands to improve overall behaviour. Your dog will learn how to:
Walk calmly on the leash
Stop when asked
Walk calmly past other dogs and other distractions
Focus on you and what you’re asking
Learning to settle at cafes and other public places
